Dinner at Exit

So tonight Dad and I met up with a favorite aunt to have dinner over this popular place people fondly- or commonly because it is easier to pronounce and remember- call Exit.

Exit because it is conveniently located by the exit road leading from the town's public terminal. But on the contrary, the road is never busy, a far cry from the town's main roads. It means vehicles never disrupt the ambiance of the place thus it retains that tropical country feel to it.

The area has sparse housing as most of the lots are either vacant, rice fields, or orchards. Whenever I'm at the place, I never fail to appreciate its pristine green calmness and cool grassy breeze, most especially at night. During the day, its surroundings are pure refreshing eye candy. Just imagine green and fragrant rice fields, perennially healthy wild grasses and tiny swamps. Exit itself boasts of cool huts encompassing a beautiful man-made pond which is teeming with tilapia, hito and such you could almost scoop them out with your bare hands.

This place offers a variety of tasty dishes but the main attraction so to speak is the fresh-off-the-pond grilled hito (catfish). I am guessing that because of of its quality freshness, the hito served tastes yummy with an almost creamy-like quality to its flesh. Every bite definitely melts in your mouth. I especially love dipping my portion to my sawsawan of calamansi, soy sauce and chili, which of course I prepared myself right at the table.
